First.... I did table clinics. My group and I had to study a topic and bascially do a report on it. A report we presented to the dental hygienist's of Idaho at a state meeting. Our research was on using a preprocedural rinse. We tested a patient who had a very "dirty" mouth. For our experiment we swabbed his mouth before we gave him an antimicrobial rinse and then swabbed again after, to see what difference a rinse would do before performing any procedures on the patient. The results were,it is GREAT to use a rinse before having any work done on your mouth!
Take notice of the agar plates on the right hand side of the board. That is the bacteria we grew.So if you go to the dentist anytime soon make sure to tell them you want to have a preprocedural rinse for their saftey and yours. They will be impressed!
Next..... came a presentation to elementary children. A completely different type presentation than the state dental hygiene meeting. It was lots of fun. We played games, sung songs, laughed, and had a great time.
Don't you love the BIG toothbrush Brandon made for me!?Then came the marathon...... Brandon decided to run the St. George marathon again this year. So last thursday night we headed to St. George. We left after my clinic, at 8pm drove all throught the night and got to St. George around 5am! We slept all of about 4 hours. Then it was off to our friend a realtor's to go house hunting. which was fun but completely exhausting! The next morning Brandon got up at the crack of dawn to run the marathon with his mom, brother, and two sisters. They had a great time running together. Brandon's sister, Dad, and I waited at the finish line and took pictures! :)
But no resting time for Brandon we were on the road again Sunday morning, took a quick break in Ogden for dinner, and the rest of conference. Now we are back in Boise. Brandon working hard, and I am just trying to find some time to unpack.
Next... we will be back down to Ogden on Friday for Brandon to go hunting with my Dad!
